Union provides governance input to university
The Faculty of Administrative Sciences provides opportunities for students to voice their aspirations for the improvement and advancement of the faculty. These aspirations are conveyed to the Student Executive Board (BEM FIA), which will then organize the “DIORAMA” event. This event will address several topics raised by the Student Advocacy Department (Adkesma) and will be responded to by the faculty leadership. The dialogue is open to all students to participate.

Faculty of Administrative Science directly engange with external local stakeholders through written policies. One of them are cooperation agreement between Faculty of Administrative Science with Mahakam Ulu Regency concerning improving human resource competency. This agreement is valid from May 2022 – May 2026.
FIA UI in collaboration and engagement with Kabupaten Mahakam Ulum, east Indonesia
The Institute for Research and Application of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (LPPIA FIA UI), conducted a study in 2022 on the Value-Added Tax (VAT) Policy for Financial Technology Services in Indonesia. The study emphasizes the urgency and potential of financial technology implementation in Indonesia, driven by digitalization across various sectors, including finance. Moreover, changes in Law No. 7 of 2021 on the Harmonization of Tax Regulations (UU HPP) introduced new dynamics in the VAT treatment of financial services, as these services were removed from the negative list, making them subject to VAT. The objectives of the study are to: (1) analyze the regulatory developments related to VAT on financial services in Indonesia (comparing Law No. 42 of 2009 on Value-Added Tax and Law No. 7 of 2021 on the Harmonization of Tax Regulations); (2) examine the impact of regulatory changes in the UU HPP on the provision of financial technology services in Indonesia; (3) analyze the implementing regulations of the UU HPP regarding VAT on financial services; and (4) assess the role of stakeholders in advocating for the development of implementing regulations under the UU HPP. Duties and Functions: Conducting research and applying administrative sciences in three fields of study: Fiscal Administration, Public Administration, and Business Administration. Expanding the scope of services and community engagement activities across the three fields of study: Fiscal Administration, Public Administration, and Business Administration. Acting as a holding entity that coordinates business units within the three fields of study: Fiscal Administration, Public Administration, and Business Administration.
The Faculty of Administrative Sciences has formed an FIA UI Integrity Zone Team towards a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM) through Dean Decree Number 200/UN2. F16. D/OTL.00.00/2021 which was later updated through the Decree of the Rector of the University of Indonesia Number 1646/SK/R/UI/2022 concerning the Appointment of the Integrity Zone Team for State Universities Legal Entities, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, University of Indonesia. This team is tasked with planning, implementing, and supervising the implementation of the construction of integrity zones within the Faculty of Administrative Sciences through six main levers, namely: (1) change management, (2) governance, (3) human resource management, (4) accountability, (5) supervision, and (6) public services.
The construction of the Integrity Zone also involves the participation of all lecturers and education staff. Therefore, FIA UI provides socialization of integrity zones to all lecturers and education staff in order to implement a clean, accountable, and high-performance bureaucracy and have an anti-corruption culture.
Government Regulation Number 75 of 2021 concerning the Statute of the Universitas Indonesia regulates academic freedom in Chapter III, Part One, Paragraph 1, Article 9. As an effort to support this, FIA UI also has a research cluster as a research group based on science/expertise/specialization from Professors at FIA UI. All lecturers can choose their major and minor scientific fields according to their expertise and interests. In addition, FIA UI also has KITA values (Commitment, Integrity, Transformative, Accountability) that are in line with the 9 Values of the Universitas Indonesia.

Faculty of Administrative Science participates in government research with government departments. One of those is the signing of the cooperation agreement between FIA and Mahakam Ulu Regency. This agreement includes cooperation in organizing the education of the Master of Administrative Science program for ASN in the Mahakam Ulu Regency government. The Faculty of Administrative Science provides a curriculum that has been researched to be right on target. In addition, the final results of this program are evaluated and reviewed as part of the output of the cooperation.
