Water consumption per person

The M FIA UI Building as a whole has used water through the PDAM which is stored in the Ground Tank of the Building through the PDAM channel of the University of Indonesia. And distributed to the storage tank on the 4th floor of the building and distributed to each floor of Building M. More than 75% of FIA UI has used and consumed PDAM water, and less than 25% use groundwater. Total water consumption, 15,200 liters (PDAM: 11,400 liters and Groundwater: 3,800 liters).

Water usage and care
FIA UI in 2023 used a Wastewater Management Plant (WWTP). The results of the liquid waste treatment are managed conventionally to the FIA UI ground tank, and later used Part of the watering of plants and fish farming so that FIA has managed liquid waste optimally and reduced water pollution at the University of Indonesia.

Wastewater Treatment

In the context of water management, FIA UI has prepared water reservoirs for wastewater and rainwater. In the wastewater reservoir, a blower is given to keep the available bacteria alive. Then for rainwater, if the shelter is full, the wastewater is automatically drained into the lake. After being accommodated, the two waters were filtered and directed to the underground tank. After that, the water is directed to the rooftop and reused for purposes such as toilet flushing, etc.

FIA UI provides free drinking water by using gallons of water placed in water dispensers. Every time a gallon of water runs out, it will be replaced immediately with a new gallon of water.

Water Dispenser

FIA UI has used sensors on the water faucet and lights so that it will stop operating when there is no stimulation of movement and light. So that, FIA UI has a role in saving water.

Water Conscious Building Standards

FIA UI has implemented landscape planting methods and planted waterproof plants such as lidah mertua, bougenville, and honje. This plant is cared for every day by FIA UI’S cleaning services.

Water Conscious Planting

Water Reuse

FIA UI already has a tool to measure the reuse of treated wastewater in the WWTP system Toilet waste channels (ablution water, sink and urinal) are distributed to wastewater treatment institutions that maximize the storage for treatment.

Water in the community

FIA UI has campaigned to use water as needed. In fact, we associate it with Islamic teachings where Islam is the religion embraced by the majority of people on FIA UI’s campus.

Saving Water Promotion

FIA UI has campaigned to use water as needed through posters that can be seen by wider community that visits FIA.
