Supporting land ecosystems through education
FIA UI includes elements of sustainable use of land, one of which is through the handover of trees from staff, students, and lecturers for the sustainable use of land program at FIA UI. This event uses the tagline “Hijaukan FIA” (Make FIA Green) and is carried out by planting 88 fruit trees in the new FIA building environment.
FIA UI has contributed to maintaining and expanding the biodiversity of the current ecosystem. The things that are done are by feeding cats, raising fish, and planting and caring for plants for environmental sustainability.
Supporting land ecosystems through action
Land sensitive waste disposal
In the context of water management, FIA UI has prepared water reservoirs for wastewater and rainwater. In the wastewater reservoir, a blower is given to keep the available bacteria alive. Then for rainwater, if the shelter is full, the wastewater is automatically drained into the lake. After being accommodated, the two waters were filtered and directed to the underground tank. After that, the water is directed to the rooftop and reused for purposes such as toilet flushing, etc.
FIA UI has committed to reducing plastic waste by making a dean’s decree number 25 of 2022. The FIA UI cleaning service will collect plastic waste from each floor of the FIA UI building. Then, plastic waste will be taken to UPS and recycled.
FIA UI has a policy to process B3 waste in the form of a dean’s decree no. 26 of 2022. For B3 waste treatment, FIA UI cleaning services separate waste from each floor of building M and building G. after that B3 waste is taken to a temporary disposal unit and will be taken by one of the company which is delegated by University of Indonesia.
