Jakarta (April 26) – PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk welcomed a Company Visit from Business Administration students of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) at the Jasa Marga Toll Road Command Center (JMTC) on Thursday, April 25, 2024. This visit aimed to provide students with insights into Jasa Marga’s business processes and digital operational services. The event is part of the ongoing collaboration under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Jasa Marga and UI, focusing on education, research, community service, and human resource development.
The event was attended by M. Agus Setiawan, Director of Business Development at Jasa Marga, accompanied by Shandy Maulana Haris, Director of Information Technology at PT Jasamarga Tollroad Operator (JMTO), and Adelia Dicha Pravitasari, Head of the Command Center Department at PT JMTO. Representing Universitas Indonesia, FIA UI lecturers Rachma Fitriati, Dewi Lusiana, and Jamilullail also participated and guided the students throughout the visit.
In his opening remarks, M. Agus Setiawan welcomed the FIA UI students for their second visit to JMTC, describing it as a continuation of their learning journey.
“Welcome back to JMTC. We are open and enthusiastic about providing hands-on learning for all of you. Here, you will learn about our advanced Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), which powers the first and most comprehensive toll road traffic control center in Indonesia,” said Agus.
Agus highlighted that JMTC functions as the “eye of the toll road,” collecting and processing traffic data through detection equipment installed across Jasa Marga Group toll roads. He also stressed the importance of digital technology in managing operational decisions during critical periods such as the Idulfitri holiday.
“Jasa Marga is constantly innovating to enhance integrated digital services. JMTC plays a crucial role not only for Jasa Marga but also for the public by providing real-time traffic information,” Agus added.
Echoing these sentiments, Rachma Fitriati, an FIA UI lecturer, expressed gratitude for the company visit, which aligns with the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program.
“We greatly appreciate Jasa Marga’s support in providing our students with real-world learning experiences. This visit enriches their understanding of business processes and helps them connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications,” Rachma said.
During the visit, Shandy Maulana Haris, Director of Information Technology at PT JMTO, provided a comprehensive presentation on Jasa Marga’s digital innovations.
“Through PT JMTO, we continue to develop digital technologies to enhance service delivery. One of our key innovations is the ‘Travoy’ application—a digital travel assistant integrated with JMTC, offering users real-time and accurate traffic information,” Shandy explained.
Shandy further revealed that the Travoy application, which has been downloaded by 543,000 users, plays a crucial role in supporting road users.
“The latest version of Travoy includes features like ‘Travoy Journey,’ which provides distance estimates, travel time, toll fees, real-time CCTV views, rest area locations, and live updates from Dynamic Message Signs (DMS),” Shandy added.
Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, Dean of FIA UI, emphasized that the company visit served as a living laboratory, supporting the core competencies of the Business Administration program.
“This event, which involved 170 FIA UI students, aligns with the 2024 accreditation regulations set by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). It provides students with in-depth knowledge of business processes and the ongoing digitalization efforts at Jasa Marga,” Prof. Chandra stated.
As part of the interactive session, FIA UI students were invited to present their SWOT analysis of the Travoy application, focusing on its Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. The students also toured the JMTC facilities, where they observed advanced systems such as real-time CCTV monitoring, toll fee management, and traffic flow analysis.
JMTC, an enhancement of the Jasa Marga Traffic Information Center (JMTIC), has operated since 2005 and manages 2,207 CCTVs, 26 speed cameras, 39 traffic counters, 509 GPS devices, 317 DMS boards, 7 Weight-in-Motion (WIM) systems, and 22 Remote Traffic Microwave Systems (RTMS) across Jasa Marga toll roads nationwide.
The advanced capabilities of JMTC facilitate seamless coordination between Jasa Marga, Korlantas POLRI, the Ministry of Transportation, and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, especially during peak traffic periods such as national holidays.
