To uphold its commitment to providing inclusive and equitable education in Indonesia, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), has launched the Pre-University FIA UI Program for high school students across the country. This initiative aligns with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), which aims to ensure inclusive and quality education while promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

The program, which has been running for a year, was introduced to SMA Al-Izzah (International Islamic Boarding School) Batu, East Java, during the school’s visit to FIA UI on Monday, October 2, 2023, at the EDISI Auditorium, FIA UI Depok.

“FIA UI is committed to creating inclusive education that is accessible to all students in Indonesia. The Pre-University Program is designed to fulfill that goal. This program allows high school students or alumni who have not yet enrolled in college to experience university-level learning at FIA UI. Classes are conducted online in the evening to accommodate students’ school schedules,” said Dr. Umanto, Secretary of the FIA UI Leadership Board.

During the event, Moh Syaifudin, M.Pd., Principal of SMA Al-Izzah Batu, emphasized that the visit was an effort to introduce and prepare students for university life.

“God willing, our students will be able to join FIA UI and make their alma mater proud by contributing to its recognition as a leading university in Indonesia. Our goal is to understand FIA UI better so that our students can gain a clearer picture and broader perspective on the dedication and determination needed to be part of FIA UI,” said Supriyono, one of the accompanying teachers.

Additionally, David Sanjaya, S.Sos., from FIA UI’s Public Relations Team, provided an overview of FIA UI’s achievements. He highlighted that FIA UI is the youngest faculty at UI and has already secured a world ranking of 51-100, fifth place in ASEAN, and the top position in Indonesia according to the QS World University Ranking. The faculty offers three undergraduate programs in Business Administration, Public Administration, and Fiscal Administration, along with two master’s programs and one doctoral program.

“The field of Administrative Sciences at FIA UI is built on five pillars: Policy, Governance, Innovation, Institutions, and Culture. These elements are interconnected, and our curriculum explores these relationships in depth. FIA UI aims to produce graduates with expertise in administrative sciences through an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach, equipping them with international competitiveness and strong moral values,” said David.

The visit was attended by 160 participants, including students and accompanying teachers from SMA Al-Izzah IIBS Batu, East Java.
