Three students from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), achieved 2nd runner-up in The 13th UI Studentpreneurs Business Model Canvas 2024 competition organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB UI). The competition took place from September 25, 2023, to February 17, 2024. The three students—Dhafir Athallah Ilmu (Business Administration 2022), Yola Vania Mahditiara (Business Administration 2022), and Darren Kristo (Business Administration 2022)—formed a team called 3MAX and successfully advanced through multiple judging stages to secure their position.

In this competition, 3MAX submitted a business model canvas and a pitch deck explaining their innovative idea. They navigated through several phases, including preliminary rounds, training and mentoring sessions, and the final presentation. “We faced a series of challenging competition stages,” said Dhafir.

The team’s business idea was inspired by the concerns of UI students who felt the need for innovation in the experience of ordering food at campus canteens. In response to this, the three FIA UI students created a platform called KantinGO!

KantinGO! is the answer to the practical needs of students and campus residents for ordering food and drinks at canteens or campus cafés. Our platform is designed to simplify the ordering experience, allowing everyone to get their preferred meals conveniently and affordably,” Yola explained.

By facing every challenge with perseverance, 3MAX demonstrated that teamwork and determination are key to driving creativity and innovation without limits. The team emphasized “digitalization” as the central point in developing their business idea. KantinGO! focuses on improving efficiency and convenience in food ordering while supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in campus canteens and enhancing customer satisfaction.

“Before entering the competition, our team conducted brainstorming sessions. We developed a plan, deepened our understanding of the competition’s theme, and collaborated on ideas. Practicing together, conducting in-depth research, and fostering teamwork were the keys to our success in navigating each competition stage. Each phase required thorough analysis and creativity to craft our business idea comprehensively,” said Darren.

Darren mentioned that the journey of 3MAX was filled with challenges that tested their teamwork, especially in finding solutions to real-world problems around them. “Additionally, preparing for the competition while handling final exams added complexity, requiring strong collaboration. These challenges were tests of our resilience, but we faced them with unwavering spirit and determination,” he added.

For context, The 13th UI Studentpreneurs is Indonesia’s largest student-organized entrepreneurship event. It aims to be the country’s leading hub for fostering entrepreneurial development among students. The event consists of three main programs: the National Seminar, the Business Model Canvas Competition, and the Young Entrepreneurship Summit. The Business Model Canvas Competition challenges young minds from across Indonesia to address societal issues through systematic and creative business ideas. Participants also gain professional experience through business training, mentoring sessions, and the opportunity to pitch their ideas to venture capitalists.
