Business & Bureaucracy: Journal of Administrative and Organizational Sciences of Universitas Indonesia (JBB UI) in collaboration with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta and the International Conference on Social and Political Science committee (ICoSaPS) 2018 held Consecutive Writing Clinic & Editorial activities Management Workshop 2018, Friday (5/10). This activity is an annual agenda held to improve scientific writing competencies for academics and researchers.

Unlike the one-time training, the concept of “consecutive” in this activity has the meaning that it is carried out sequentially, the sequence of the review process by professional reviewers in each field. Consecutive writing clinic is held with a coaching approach. First, it begins with an interactive discussion session between experienced journal editors / scientific writers and participants. Second, through a writing guidance session on the spot and established with an online guidance session / or based on appointments as long as the duration is determined. Finally, it was closed with a final review and editorial meeting.

Lecturer in Management and Public Policy of UGM Faculty of Social Sciences and editor-in-chief of Policy and Governance Review which is also managed by the Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA), Dr. Bevaola Kusumasari, M.Si and Managing Editor in Makara Human Behavioral Studies in Asia (Hubs-Asia), Laras Sekarasih, S.Psi., M.S., Ph.D. became a speaker in this activity. One by one they share tips and tricks and experience in writing scientific papers. In addition, the Fiscal Administration Lecturer and JBB FIA UI editor-in-chief, Defny Holidin, S.Sos, MPM became the moderator.

There are four materials discussed at the Consecutive Writing Clinic. First, how to point out the loophole / theoretical gap. Second, how to develop research ideas, research questions & research objectives. Third, How to write an abstract including an introduction. And fourth, how to make sound arguments and how to find a good journal article.

In addition, at this event there was an editorial management workshop session. In this session, the workshop material presented starting the journal management and management and managing relationships with reviewers and the editorial board. Other things discussed are the continuity of manuscripts, university or faculty policies on journals, procedures and successful tips on accreditation of Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (RISTEKDIKTI).
