Mini Lecture: Korean Innovation of System for Jobs in the 4th Industrial Revolution

The world is now experiencing the Industrial Revolution 4.0 which affects the availability of employment, investment and technology. This is the attention of Professor from Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), Prof. Hyung Jun Park, who explained how South Korea is facing this revolution at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI).

In the mini-lecture themed Korean Innovation of System for Jobs in the 4th Industrial Revolution, Park explained that the availability of jobs is related to economic and social problems such as the rise and fall of the economy. In addition, other factors are changes in growth strategies, dynamic life, and inequality. “This will have broad implications for the people of South Korea due to the changes in the socio-economic climate,” said the Director, SKKU’s Institute of Governance and Evalutation on Thursday (8/16).

He added that the changes included 5 things, namely the structure of demography, social values, industrial environment, international relations and the natural environment. Future changes have an impact on the working system of the people in the country of ginseng.

Facing this, Prof. Park said the need for various system innovations in Korea. First, innovation in the education system is very important to form skilled workforce and differentiate them from machines. Second, there is a diversification of work and innovation in corporate culture. After that, there is a need to improve the social network security system. Finally, consolidate the basis for creating quality jobs.

Korea views an ideal future involving the community, the integration of humans and machines which leads to the expansion of the scope of innovation. Naturally, in dealing with this, South Korea developed the ability of human resources to distinguish it from machines and encourage innovation.
