Innovation plays a crucial role in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To foster innovation, creative and solution-oriented innovators are needed to address various existing challenges.

Universitas Indonesia and Danone Aqua are committed to actively nurturing young innovators capable of tackling today’s pressing issues, particularly in health and environmental concerns. This initiative aligns with several SDG points, especially those related to good health and well-being, as well as creating a sustainable land ecosystem.

This year, Danone Aqua is collaborating with the Center for Innovative and Governance (CIGO) at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia, to host the Voice of Youth Challenge (VYC) 2023. This innovation competition aims to generate innovative, creative, and solution-driven ideas for programs or campaigns that address pressing issues while raising public awareness about the importance of healthy living and environmental sustainability.

The competition is open to D3/D4/S1 university students across Indonesia and features two categories: Health and Green Environment. The 2023 VYC competition has selected two key themes: “Raising Awareness on Hydration” for the Health category and “Waste Management” for the Green Environment category. These themes encourage young Indonesians to develop strategies and ideas to promote hydration awareness for better health and to address waste management issues for a cleaner environment.

The “Raising Awareness on Hydration” theme aims to educate people about the importance of maintaining proper hydration levels for overall health and daily activities. Meanwhile, the “Waste Management” theme seeks to highlight the growing waste problem, which worsens environmental damage each year due to improper disposal and management. The program encourages responsible consumption of packaged food and beverages, as well as other everyday products.

Winners of the VYC 2023 competition will receive attractive benefits and a total prize pool worth hundreds of millions of rupiah.
