Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) Prof. Eko Prasojo submitted an academic manuscript and Problem Inventory List (DIM) of the tax consultant draft bill to the House of Representatives Commission XI Member, M. Misbakhun. This is the answer to taxation academics who took the initiative to provide input regarding the tax consultant draft bill who hit the hammer at the end of July.

According to the Deputy Dean 1 of FIA UI, Prof. Dr. Dra. Haula Rosdiana, this Tax Consultant Draft bill still reaps the pros and cons in the community. This Draft bill is considered to negate or degrade the role of universities in the field of taxation. “This negates the existing tax consultants, the UI tax administration graduates who were able to directly become tax lawyer will have to take the first test to become tax consultants,” said Prof. Haula during a Public Discussion on the Tax Consultants Draft on Monday (10/9).

On the other hand, the tax consultant profession is closely related to economic activities that will affect the economy. Prof. Haula who is also the General Secretary of Indonesia Fiscal and Tax Administration Association (IFTAA) said, in certain cases this Tax Consultant Draft Bill could also create human resources both in quantity and quality in improving the taxation system in Indonesia.

Misbakhun promised to convey the aspirations, views and aspirations of these taxation academics to the government. “This will be the topic of discussion and inventory list of problems that we will accommodate in the Act,” said Misbakhun.

Besides that, from the results of comparative studies in various countries, interesting things are found, namely taxation is not only the domain of the tax consultant profession, some tax services are also carried out by experts in other scientific fields (for example economists, public policy experts and administrative experts) and also carried out by other professions (such as accountants and advocates). This reflects that tax is a multi-disciplinary discipline.

The event took place at the Vocational Auditorium UI, held in collaboration with the FIA UI and the Vocational Tax Administration Administration Program UI. Besides Prof. Haula Rosdiana and Mukhamad Misbakhun, this public discussion also invited tax observers, Darussalam, SE., Ak., CA., M.Sc., LLM. Int. Tax and moderated by the Deputy Chairperson of FIA UI Tax Center, Dr. Titi Muswati Putranti.(EM / MI)[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
