SEOUL. The Delegations from The Faculty of Administrative Science Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) are back after visiting South Korea 26th – 30th November 2018. This time, FIA UI visited the Graduate School of Public Administration, Seoul National University (GSPA SNU). This agenda is part of a series of studies on university management. Not only that, this visitation is also done to attend an international conference.

Deputy Dean of FIA UI, in the Field of Resources, Venture and General Administration, Dr. Retno Kusumastuti, which became the head of the delegation of FIA UI expresses her gratitude for the chance that was given to her by SNU to learn governance in South Korea. “We hope FIA UI can continue to accomplish achievements and be well-known like the SNU,” he explained.

In SNU, the FIA UI group was welcomed by the leadership of GSPA SNU, Professor Huck-Ju Kwon. “We are very pleased to be able to exchange knowledge about university governance in each other’s country” said Retno who is also a lecturer in Business Administration. In the future, she hoped that the knowledge gained from this experience can be used to reform the management of universities, especially FIA UI. At the end of the activity, a preparation of action plans was done in order to reform the management in FIA UI.

When the delegates of FIA UI were there, they also met Prof. Hyung Jun Park from Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU). This meeting was intended to increase collaboration between FIA UI and SKKU in the field of education and training. Prof. Park also invited FIA especially to appear at an international conference in the field of human resources development in SKKU on April 2019. In the future, FIA will have similar agendas to offer various research and learn in the best institutions in the field of governance in other countries.

The delegations from FIA UI consists of nine lecturers in total. Four from Business Administration: Dr. Retno Kusumastuti, Dr. Effy Rusfian, Eca Andayani,M.Si., Achmad Fauzi, ME. Four from Public Administration: Dr. Lina Miftahul Jannah, Dr. Vishnu Juwono, Prof. Dr. Irfan Ridwan Maksum alongside Defny Holidin, MPM and one from Fiscal Administration: Dr. Milla Sepliana Setyowati.

At this moment SNU holds the 36th place in the world based on the new release of QS World Ranking. Aside from that, in the Asia level, SNU hold the 10th place. (EM)
