Depok, August 15, 2023 – The Faculty of Administrative Sciences at Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) welcomed the 2023 cohort of new students from various admission pathways, including SNBP, SNBT, PPKB, and SIMAK UI, through the Faculty Academic System Introduction (PSAF) event. The event was held across multiple locations, including the 2020 Edition Auditorium on the 4th floor of Building M and several classrooms on the 1st floor.

In his opening remarks, Dean of FIA UI, Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.Si., M.M., emphasized that while FIA UI is the youngest faculty at UI, it is far from being the smallest, as it has achieved remarkable milestones in just a few years.

“Administrative Science has existed in Indonesia long before I was born, dating back to 1962. As a faculty, our achievements in just eight years have been outstanding. In 2023, FIA UI ranked 51-100 in the world according to the QS World University Rankings, placed 5th in ASEAN, and secured the No. 1 position in Indonesia. These accomplishments are the result of the hard work and dedication of the entire FIA UI academic community,” he stated.

Prof. Chandra also highlighted that the primary responsibility of the 2023 freshmen is to excel academically. “We can maintain and even improve these rankings if our new students participate in various national and international competitions,” he encouraged.

Additionally, he reaffirmed FIA UI’s commitment to establishing an integrity zone towards a corruption-free and clean bureaucratic environment. “FIA UI upholds the core values of Commitment, Integrity, Transformative, and Trustworthiness (FIA KITA). We are committed to becoming a corruption-free institution, eliminating any form of corruption or gratification within FIA UI. Our new students also play a vital role in fostering this environment,” he emphasized.

As part of the event, FIA UI introduced the “Green FIA” initiative, where all new students contributed plants to support the Green Campus movement at both FIA UI and Universitas Indonesia. Symbolic plant donations included Aglaonema, Purple Oxalis, and Sansevieria (Mother-in-Law’s Tongue).

The event was also attended by the FIA UI leadership team, including Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Research, and Student Affairs Dr. Fibria Indriati, M.Si.; Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration Dr. Milla Sepliana Setyowati, M.Ak.; Faculty Secretary Dr. Umanto, M.Si.; Head of UPMA SPI and Accreditation Drs. Kusnar Budi, M.Buss.; and department heads such as Novita Ikasari, M.Comm., Ph.D. (Business Administration), Prof. Dr. Teguh Kurniawan, M.Sc. (Public Administration), and Dr. Inayati, M.Si. (Fiscal Administration), along with department secretaries, managers, and coordinators within FIA UI.
