Depok, January 30, 2024 – The Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) and the Tidore Kepulauan City Government have signed a Cooperation Agreement for the Master’s Program in Public Administration and Policy at FIA UI. This agreement covers the implementation of the Tidore Kepulauan City Government’s Study Assignment Program for the 2023 Fiscal Year, involving five civil servants (ASN) who have met the requirements and been accepted as new students in the Postgraduate Program in Administrative Sciences for the 2023/2024 academic year.

The signing ceremony took place in the Smartclass Room, 3rd Floor, Building M, FIA UI Campus, Depok. FIA UI was represented by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.Si., M.M., while the Tidore Kepulauan City Government was represented by the Mayor, Capt. Ali Ibrahim, M.H.

“Through this collaboration, we aim to prepare excellent human resources (HR) as the next generation to develop Tidore Kepulauan City. Preparing a superior generation is key to regional progress. One of the steps we are taking is collaborating in postgraduate education at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, UI,” said Mayor Capt. Ali Ibrahim, M.H.

Prof. Dr. Chandra highlighted the achievements of Tidore Kepulauan City, which has consistently earned the Unqualified Opinion (WTP) designation from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). “Improving the competence of human resources, especially civil servants, is key to enhancing public welfare. Being a UI student is not only prestigious but also provides added value that can be applied in public service,” he added.

The agreement is expected to have a significant positive impact on the development and progress of the Tidore Kepulauan City Government while strengthening UI’s position as an educational institution committed to supporting regional development.

The Mayor also emphasized the importance of investing in education, stating, “The government can leave a lasting impression on the community through educational investment. The benefits I experienced while studying at FIA UI have led to changes in the working system in Maluku, with a significant positive impact in North Maluku.”

In addition to the signing ceremony, the meeting also included a monitoring and evaluation session to review the academic progress of Tidore Kepulauan City’s special cooperation class for the Fall Semester of the 2023/2024 Academic Year. During this semester, the civil servants under the study assignment program have achieved outstanding academic results, reflecting the effectiveness of the collaboration between UI and the Tidore Kepulauan City Government.

“This cooperation reflects FIA UI’s commitment to supporting the eastern regions by providing broad access to education at Universitas Indonesia. We package this commitment in a program called FIA SAKTI (Eastern Indonesia Affirmation System), which aims to open educational opportunities for all, including communities in Eastern Indonesia,” explained Prof. Chandra.

The event was attended by Tidore Kepulauan City Government officials, including Abd. Rasyid AW. Umar, Expert Staff for Community and Human Resources Affairs; Zulkifli Ohorella, Saiful Salim, Samsul Bahri Ache, Fergiawan, and Rizkytullah Putra Samsudin, who are civil servants and FIA UI postgraduate students from Tidore Kepulauan.

From FIA UI, attendees included Dr. Fibria Indriati Dwi Liestiawati, S.Sos., M.Si., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs; Dr. Umanto, M.Si., Secretary of the Faculty; and Dr. phil. Reza Fathurrahman, M.P.P., Secretary of the FIA UI Postgraduate Program.
