To be a strong and good entrepreneur, one must not only be smart, but also resilient, must have the will and strength to rise from falls and continue the journey with enthusiasm.

This was stated by Jimmy Gani as Founder & CEO at Orbitin Indonesia in the 2022 Young Entrepreneur Challenge (YEC) Closing Ceremony which took place virtually on Thursday, August 25, 2022 afternoon. The YEC 2022 Closing Ceremony is the culmination of activities that have been going on since April 2022.

“YEC carries a noble mission, namely to form young entrepreneurs who excel from good seeds. The committee has carried out a rigorous curation process in order to screen the finalists and select 25 finalists who will then follow the incubation process,” said Jimmy.

Dr. Fibria Indriati, M.Sc as Deputy Dean for Academic and Research expressed appreciation to all participants who have actively participated in the YEC 2022 event which is a collaboration between the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, University of Indonesia (FIA UI) and Orbitin Indonesia.

“We hope that through this event, we can support the growth and development of young Indonesian entrepreneurs who are professional and can contribute to Indonesian society,” said Dr. Fibria.

In an activity initiated since 2021, the 25 finalists who entered the preliminary round received training and guidance from reliable sources for ten weeks on how to become young entrepreneurs who not only have luck, but also have skills or expertise.

After going through a long journey, finally the winner of YEC 2022 was announced. The first rank was occupied by the Econella group, which contributed innovative ideas for essential oil bioadditive products that have been tested to make efficient use of fuel and reduce carbon emissions. Furthermore, the second position is the Kakasan Fashion Team, which is an innovative idea as a socialization of community empowerment-based fabric waste problems. While the third winner is the Nasho Group.

“Hopefully the experience while at YEC can have an impact on the capacity development of these young entrepreneurs. YEC is used as an ecosystem that supports the formation of an entrepreneurial spirit. It’s not just ideas that are woven, but also the ecosystem that we have to develop,” added Jimmy.
