History

Before becoming the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, the management of Administrative Sciences was one of the Departments of the Social Sciences Section of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FH-IPK UI) on September 1st, 1962. At the beginning of the formation of the Department of Administrative Sciences consisted of only two study programs, namely the Public Administration Study Program and the Business Administration Study Program. Then, starting February 1st, 1968 based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 42 of 1968, the Department of Administrative Sciences became part of its own faculty called the Faculty of Social Sciences UI (FIPK UI). Furthermore, FIPK UI changed its nomenclature name to the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Universitas Indonesia (FIS UI) through the Decree of the Rector of the Universitas Indonesia No.002/SK/R/BR/72 and the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 31/C/1972. In 1982, FIS UI changed its name to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the Universitas Indonesia (FISIP UI) through Presidential Decree No. 44 of 1982.

Along with the increasing needs in the taxation sector, in the 1981/1982 academic year a Tax Administration Study Program was established under the name of the Fiscal Administration Study Program. Since 2003, the term “Department” in FISIP UI has been changed to “Department”, which has an impact on changing the name of the “Department” of Administrative Sciences to the Department of Administrative Sciences FISIP UI. The Department of Administrative Sciences FISIP UI consists of four Education Programs: 1) Diploma Program (Diploma III Office and Secretarial Administration Program, Diploma III Insurance and Actuarial Administration Program, Diploma III Finance and Banking Administration Program, Diploma III Tax Administration Program; 2) Regular Bachelor Program (Bachelor Program in Public Administration, Bachelor Program in Business Administration, Bachelor Program in Fiscal Administration); 3) Extension Undergraduate Program (Bachelor of Public Administration Program, Bachelor of Business Administration Program, Bachelor of Fiscal Administration Program); and 4) Postgraduate Programs (Master & Doctoral). Then, since 2008, all D3 FISIP UI programs were transferred by the Vocational Program of Universitas Indonesia, and in 2016 the Extension Undergraduate Program (Bachelor of Public Administration Program, Bachelor of Business Administration Program, Bachelor of Fiscal Administration Program) was closed.

The following is the development of the management of the Bachelor of Business Administration Program until it becomes the Department of Administrative Sciences FIA UI:

  • In 1962 – 1968, the Department of Administrative Sciences was part of the Social Sciences, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Universitas Indonesia;
