Depok, 13 May 2026 – Fakultas Ilmu Administrasi Universitas Indonesia welcomed delegates from Chinese academic institutions and industries as part of the UI–China Collaboration Symposium, a forum aimed at exploring strategic cooperation opportunities in education, research, digitalization, and sustainable industrial development.

The symposium served as a platform for discussions on strengthening Indonesia–China collaboration, particularly in the areas of green energy, digital economy, digital governance, infrastructure development, talent development, and international research collaboration.

Various strategic topics were discussed during the forum, including waste-to-energy development and urban sustainability, creator economy and livestream e-commerce, the establishment of joint laboratories and international research funding, as well as opportunities for joint education programs and the development of digital campus ecosystems.

During the symposium, FIA UI also explored several concrete collaboration opportunities with Chinese institutions and companies. One of the discussions was conducted with Tianjin University, which focuses on digitalization, industrial planning, and artificial intelligence (AI). Both parties discussed the potential for academic collaboration through joint publications and collaborative research projects.

In addition, FIA UI held discussions with PT MegaByte Indonesia regarding the development of digitalization, digital governance, and AI technologies. The company also expressed interest in opening opportunities for student involvement and internship programs within the digital industry ecosystem.

Further collaboration opportunities were explored with PT Lesso Technology Indonesia Trading, a company operating in renewable energy and urban infrastructure. During the discussion, FIA UI was seen as a strategic partner for professional training, particularly in the areas of government compliance and industrial regulatory understanding in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Xuzhou Combustion Control Research Institute expressed its interest in developing renewable materials and waste management technologies aligned with Indonesia’s environmental policies. FIA UI was considered to have a strategic role in facilitating connections between industry partners and policymakers, including relevant ministries.

The event was also attended by the Dean of Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Indonesia, who introduced the Artificial Intelligence (AI) study program and the Science Techno Park facilities as part of strengthening UI’s interdisciplinary innovation and research ecosystem.

Through this symposium, FIA UI reaffirmed its commitment to expanding international networks and fostering cross-country collaborations that are relevant to global developments. The collaboration among universities, industries, and international stakeholders is expected to strengthen research, innovation, and human resource development capable of addressing future challenges.
