Hangzhou, China, May 30, 2026 – The Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), and the School of Public Affairs, Zhejiang University (SPA ZJU), have officially strengthened their academic partnership through the signing of an Agreement of Implementation (AoI) on Student Mobility. The signing took place on the sidelines of the ASPAA Inauguration Ceremony and 1st ASPAA Leadership Roundtable held at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.

This collaboration forms part of FIA UI’s commitment to expanding the internationalization of higher education and strengthening global academic networks through student mobility and cross-border collaboration. The AoI Student Mobility also reinforces various initiatives in educational development, joint research, academic exchange, scientific publication, and the strengthening of international networks in the fields of public administration and governance that have long been established between the two institutions.

FIA UI was represented by Prof. Teguh Kurniawan, Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, who attended on behalf of the Dean of FIA UI. The signing of this AoI marks a strategic step in strengthening academic relations between Universitas Indonesia and Zhejiang University, one of the world’s leading universities.

The AoI Student Mobility serves as the formalization of a reciprocal student exchange initiative that has already begun to be implemented. In January 2026, FIA UI welcomed 24 SPA ZJU students to participate in the Asia Student Leadership and Cultural Mobility with Zhejiang University 2026 program held at the FIA UI campus in Depok. The program provided a platform for cross-cultural learning while strengthening students’ global understanding of leadership and public administration in Asia.

The collaboration will continue in August 2026 through the participation of 12 FIA UI students in a summer program at Zhejiang University titled ZJU-UI Joint Summer School on Inclusive Development in Hangzhou. The program is designed to strengthen academic capacity, facilitate the exchange of global perspectives, and expand international networks among students of both universities.

The strengthening of cooperation through the AoI Student Mobility reflects FIA UI’s commitment to expanding international learning experiences that are collaborative and relevant to the evolving dynamics of global governance. Through student mobility and cross-border academic networks, FIA UI continues to foster graduates who are adaptive, globally competitive, and capable of contributing to addressing public challenges at both the national and international levels.
