As a concrete contribution to strengthening local governance, improving the community’s economic capacity, and formulating more targeted policies, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), in collaboration with the Bogor City Government, is exploring a strategic partnership in a community service initiative initiated by the Bogor City Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency (Bapperida).
This community service program is designed around three key pillars: the Mentoring of the Merah Putih Cooperative (KMP), MSME Empowerment, and Evidence-Based Public Policy Strengthening. These three pillars complement each other in building a sustainable development ecosystem in Bogor City through collaborative and data-driven approaches.
The Mentoring of the Merah Putih Cooperative focuses on enhancing the capacity of cooperative administrators in all sub-districts of Bogor City through workshops, technical guidance, and management mentoring, including SOP/SOM development and financial reporting, which will run from July to October 2025.
For MSME empowerment, FIA UI will provide speakers and facilitators to improve financial literacy, offer business consultations, and support product promotion through workshops, open desk sessions, and brand mentoring. Meanwhile, the Evidence-Based Public Policy program supports Bogor City civil servants in formulating research-based policies through policy briefs, studies, and impact evaluations.
In her remarks, Dr. Nurul Safitri, S.Sos., M.A., lecturer and Manager of Research, Innovation, and Community Engagement at FIA UI, emphasized that community service is a tangible manifestation of the university’s threefold mission (tridharma). She noted that FIA UI had previously partnered with the Depok City Government and welcomed this new collaboration with Bogor City.
“We aim to present an integrated community service model, rather than isolated programs. Therefore, needs assessment on the ground will form the basis of the program design,” said Dr. Nurul.
This collaboration is expected to mark the beginning of a broader strategic partnership between FIA UI and the Bogor City Government, creating impactful and sustainable community service initiatives.
