Depok, July 23, 2025 – Universitas Indonesia (UI) has awarded Performance Achievement Incentives (IPK) to lecturers and education staff through representatives from each work unit, as part of the university leadership’s commitment to improving employee welfare in order to enhance the overall quality of UI.
“This initiative is part of UI’s effort to improve the quality of education to an international standard, which will ultimately increase the university’s revenue,” said UI Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, after the IPK handover ceremony for lecturers and staff at the UI Depok Campus on Wednesday (23/7).
Prof. Heri further expressed his hope that the improvement of UI’s education quality at the international level, along with advances in research and community service, would make it easier for UI to collaborate with external partners. Such collaborations, he explained, have the potential to generate income for the university. “And in the end, the revenue can be reinvested to improve the quality of education, infrastructure, and the welfare of our lecturers,” he added.
The provision of IPK is part of UI’s broader plan to enhance welfare in the coming years. Starting next year, UI will grant performance-based incentives based on the achievements of each employee. Prof. Heri also emphasized the important role of deans and unit leaders in ensuring fairness and transparency in the incentive distribution process. “Those who know best are the deans, vice deans, heads of study programs, directors, managers, and heads of units. I ask for your help to ensure that those who work well and excel will gradually see their welfare improved to the greatest extent possible,” he said.
Meanwhile, UI Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and Resources, Ahmad Gamal, S.Ars., M.Si., M.U.P., Ph.D., explained that the IPK program was initiated under the Rector’s directive to improve the welfare of lecturers and education staff. Unlike in previous years, this year’s IPK amounts to 100% of take-home pay, covering both salary and allowances. “The basis for awarding the 100% IPK for lecturers is individual performance assessment based on work behavior and additional workload in the Lecturer Workload (BKD). For education staff, the assessment is based on work behavior and competencies evaluated by their direct supervisors. Starting in 2025, UI will aim to provide IPK up to four to five times the take-home pay for employees with the highest performance achievements,” said Ahmad Gamal.
The event continued with the symbolic handover of IPK to representatives of lecturers and staff from various faculties. Employees with the highest scores received IPK of up to 150%. Moving forward, UI remains committed to continuously improving welfare and creating a pleasant working environment for the entire academic community.
The “Performance Achievement Incentive Award Ceremony” was attended by UI leadership, including Vice Rector for Infrastructure and Facilities, Agus Setiawan, S.Kp., M.N., D.N.; Head of the Quality Assurance and Internal Audit Board, Prof. Dr. Rizal E. Halim, S.E., M.E.; Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc.; Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Prof. Dr. Bagus Takwin, M.Hum., Psychologist; Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Prof. Dr. Semiarto Aji Purwanto; Director of the School of Environmental Science, Prof. Dr. Drs.
