The Faculty of Administrative Science, University of Indonesia (FIA UI) has once again demonstrated its commitment to accelerating internationalization efforts by hosting Prof. Maria Brockhaus from the University of Helsinki, Finland. The presence of this international expert aims to strengthen the research ecosystem, publication standards, and academic governance to meet global benchmarks within FIA UI through a series of intensive activities held over five consecutive days in early April 2026.
The academic agenda commenced on April 3, 2026, with a Workshop on Environmental Governance located at the Megamendung Organic Forest as an effort to integrate field-based learning. The following day, the focus shifted toward enhancing the quality of scientific work through a seminar titled “From Idea to Publication” held at the FIA UI Smartclass Room, followed by a workshop on University Governance on April 5, 2026, to discuss the reinforcement of more effective higher education governance systems.
Activities continued on April 6, 2026, with a specialized session on Writing and Publication at the Ruang Kaca, 1st Floor of the FIA UI New Building, which was designed to analyze competitive scientific article writing strategies for international journals. As the pinnacle of this visiting program, Prof. Maria Brockhaus will deliver a public lecture on April 7, 2026, at the EDISI Auditorium, addressing the crucial theme of the role of data in environmental policymaking in the Global South, including the inherent barriers and opportunities.
Through this visiting professor program, FIA UI hopes to open broader international collaboration opportunities for both students and faculty members. This internationalization step is expected not only to increase the faculty’s international publication output but also to provide a profound global perspective for the entire academic community in responding to the dynamics of public policy and the environment at both national and international levels.
