Depok, April 2, 2026 — The Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), officially launched its Research Ethics Committee (Komite Etik Penelitian/KEP) as a strategic step to strengthen research governance with integrity. This initiative reflects FIA UI’s commitment to supporting ethical, accountable, and standards-compliant research practices.

The launch of the Research Ethics Committee was symbolically inaugurated by the Dean of FIA UI, Prof. Dr. Dra. Retno Kusumastuti Hardjono, M.Si., together with the Chair of the Faculty’s Board of Professors, Prof. Dr. Haula Rosdiana, M.Si., marking the commencement of KEP’s operations within the faculty.

The establishment of KEP is expected to facilitate students, lecturers, and researchers in accessing research ethics services, ranging from submission processes to guidance in meeting ethical standards.

As part of the event, Prof. Ir. Bernardus Yuliarto Nugroho, M.S.M., Ph.D., Chair of the FIA UI Research Ethics Committee, delivered an introductory session highlighting the importance of KEP in enhancing the quality of research within the academic environment. He emphasized that ethical considerations serve as a fundamental pillar in maintaining the credibility and integrity of research outcomes.

Furthermore, Dr. Nurul Safitri, S.Sos., M.A., Manager of Research, Innovation, and Community Engagement at FIA UI, presented an overview of service mechanisms, submission procedures, and the operational standards of the Research Ethics Committee. The presentation provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the processes and requirements for ethics submissions at FIA UI.

The event also featured an interactive and engaging question-and-answer session. Participants, consisting of lecturers, researchers, and postgraduate students, actively raised questions and engaged in discussions regarding the implementation and technical aspects of research ethics submissions.

Through the launch of the Research Ethics Committee, FIA UI aims to foster a more structured, transparent, and integrity-driven research ecosystem, while also enhancing the quality and competitiveness of its research at both national and international levels.
