A delegation from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), led by Dean Prof. Dr. Dra. Retno Kusumastuti Hardjono, M.Si., held a bilateral meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Language at Xiamen University. The delegation also engaged in an academic discussion with Prof. Wei Shen from Zhejiang University.

The visit aimed to enhance institutional relations by exploring strategic partnerships between FIA UI and various institutions in China.

“This collaboration is expected to explore potential cooperation in the form of double degree programs, joint supervision, joint research, and other international collaborations such as international conferences with Xiamen University,” said Prof. Retno.

The visit also served as an opportunity for FIA UI to learn more about university governance systems, particularly in academic administration and internationalization. This initiative supports the achievement of Universitas Indonesia’s strategic performance indicators outlined in its 2025–2029 Strategic Plan.

The discussions resulted in several agreements, including the development of a collaborative class between FIA UI’s Intercultural Management course and Indonesian or English language classes at the Faculty of Foreign Language, Xiamen University.

In 2026, FIA UI and Xiamen University are planning to implement a student exchange program and organize a joint international seminar to be held in Bandung.

As part of strengthening its academic network, FIA UI will also facilitate collaborations with other faculties at Universitas Indonesia, particularly the Faculty of Humanities (FIB UI) and the UI Vocational Professional Certification Institute (LSP Vokasi UI), to support interpreter certification programs.

Also joining the delegation were Prof. Dr. Martani Huseini, a professor at FIA UI, and Dr. Eko Sakapurnama, S.Psi., MBA, Head of the FIA UI Graduate Program.
