Depok, June 26, 2025 — The Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), has strengthened its international and national network through the signing of strategic collaborations with the National University of Singapore (NUS), Asia’s top university ranked 8th in the world according to the QS World University Rankings, and the University of Melbourne, Australia’s top university ranked 19th globally. These partnerships are part of FIA UI’s broader effort to support Universitas Indonesia (UI) in its goal of becoming a globally impactful and leading university. UI has recently risen in global rankings, securing the position of Indonesia’s top university and 189th in the world according to QS World University Rankings. In addition to these partnerships, FIA UI also entered into collaborations with 14 other strategic partners, covering educational institutions, government agencies, and private sector organizations.
The signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), Cooperation Agreements, and Agreements of Intent (AoIs) took place during the Studium Generale of FIA UI on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Balai Purnomo, Universitas Indonesia, Depok. The event was attended by the Rector of Universitas Indonesia, university leadership, deans and faculty heads, as well as representatives from the partner institutions. This initiative was also part of the 10th Anniversary celebration of FIA UI, marking a moment of reflection and a renewed commitment to strengthening global and national collaboration.
The partnership with NUS (ranked 8th globally) focuses on a student mobility program, enabling FIA UI students to gain learning experiences at Asia’s top university for a certain period, and reciprocally allowing NUS students to study at FIA UI. This program is expected to broaden global perspectives and enhance the international competitiveness of FIA UI graduates. Meanwhile, the collaboration with the University of Melbourne (ranked 19th globally) involves a master’s level Double Degree Program in Public Policy and Management. This program offers FIA UI students the opportunity to complete one year of study at Universitas Indonesia and one year at the University of Melbourne, earning academic degrees from both institutions.
“Partnering with the best universities in Asia and Australia is a strategic step for FIA UI to promote the internationalization of education in administrative sciences. We are committed to producing graduates who are not only academically excellent but also globally connected and insightful,” said the Dean of FIA UI, Prof. Dr. Dra. Retno Kusumastuti Hardjono, M.Si., in her speech.
These partnerships reflect FIA UI’s commitment to strengthening the three pillars of higher education: teaching, research, and community service. Through these collaborations, FIA UI aims to enhance the quality of education, broaden the impact of administrative science, and solidify its position as a leading, reputable, and impactful faculty both nationally and internationally.
The Studium Generale marked the opening of the 10th Anniversary celebrations of FIA UI. In the following months, FIA UI will hold a series of events including the Road to Homecoming Day and the Homecoming Day, scheduled from July to September 2025. These events are expected to strengthen ties with alumni and strategic partners, while fostering synergy for the advancement of administrative science and education in Indonesia.
