Dr. Reza Fathurrahman, a Public Policy lecturer at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), is currently undertaking an academic visit to the University of Melbourne, Australia. This visit is part of the Indonesia Initiative 2025, a visiting scholar program organized by the Faculty of Arts, University of Melbourne, aimed at strengthening teaching and research ties with Indonesian academics.

The academic visit runs from April 26 to May 24, 2025, and is hosted by the School of Social and Political Sciences (SSPS), with Dr. Mhamed Biygautane serving as faculty host. During the visit, Dr. Reza is engaging in a collaborative research project focusing on a comparative study of knowledge management in municipal governance, connecting universities and local communities in Jakarta and Melbourne.

In addition, Dr. Reza delivered two guest lectures in the courses Principles of Public Management and Comparative Public Policy, coordinated by Dr. Azad Singh Bali. These lectures covered topics such as integrated policy, governance, citizen awareness in disaster response, as well as strategic program management and performance accountability in national governments.

Dr. Reza also conducted an online guest lecture for undergraduate students of Public Administration at FIA UI, discussing public-private partnerships in the public sector. The session was co-facilitated with Dr. Mhamed Biygautane as part of an inter-institutional collaboration.

Beyond academic activities, Dr. Reza actively participated in partnership development meetings aimed at expanding cooperation between FIA UI and the Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne. These efforts include initiatives for student exchange programs, international internship opportunities, and external examiner collaborations for doctoral programs.

This visit reflects FIA UI’s strong commitment to strengthening international academic networks and supporting the advancement of public administration in Indonesia through global collaboration. It is expected that such partnerships will foster innovation in teaching, research, and public policy that is both relevant and globally competitive.
