The Rector of the University of Indonesia (UI), Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., guarantees that all students admitted to UI, particularly in the regular undergraduate program, will face no obstacles in pursuing their education due to financial issues. He stated that the determination of the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) for the Regular Undergraduate Program and the Vocational Education Program is based on the socio-economic background data of the parents or those responsible for the student’s education costs.

“For regular program students, we must ensure that their tuition fees are fair and aligned with their financial capacity,” said Prof. Heri after being officially inaugurated as UI Rector for the 2024-2029 term at the Purnomo Prawiro Multipurpose Hall, UI Depok Campus, on Wednesday (4/12).

He added that UI has developed various mechanisms to address this issue. The university applies a fair and data-driven policy to determine tuition fees, based on the assessment of the financial capacity of those responsible for paying. As part of this policy, UI has divided UKT into 11 categories, ranging from Rp500,000 (approximately $32 USD) to Rp20,000,000 (approximately $1,280 USD).

Furthermore, Prof. Heri emphasized that beyond fair UKT determination, UI is also committed to providing scholarships for students in need to help them succeed throughout their education. “If there are regular program students struggling financially, please let us know immediately. We are committed to ensuring no one is left behind,” he said.
