PT Astha Aptana Mulia (Inasia) and the FIA University of Indonesia (UI) Risk Governance Center Research Cluster signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) in the development of human resources (HR) in the field of insurance. “The science of insurance has existed at the University of Indonesia since the 1960s with the current development of the insurance sector, which multinational companies dominate, so there is a need for synergy between institutions to maximize the existing potential. The number of insurance policyholders in Indonesia is among the largest in Asia and Southeast Asia. The Faculty of Administrative Sciences, University of Indonesia through RGC, hopes to become a motor to drive the potential of human insurance resources in Indonesia in collaboration with AAMAI and INASIA, which are non-formal educational institutions in the field of insurance.” said the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, University of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.Si., M.M.

Michael Sinaga, Inasia’s corporate secretary, said that Inasia wants to improve the quality of human resources in the insurance industry by providing talent with high qualifications and integrity according to the insurance industry’s needs. He said that improving the quality of human resources would also have implications for increasing the development of the insurance industry in Indonesia.

“The number of AAMAI members who have carried out certification has reached 9,737, but only several 3,000 are actively implementing insurance science. We realize that it is necessary and important to manage the potential of human resources in the insurance sector so that national companies can maximize the insurance market,” said Dr. Prihantoro, MBA, AAIJ, AMRP, CPIE, QIP as Chair of the AAMAI Life Insurance Competency Standard Development Division.
