Hertie School of Governance is one of the universities in Berlin, Germany that focuses on public policy. This is the basis of the Faculty of Administrative Science Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) to explore a collaboration with this public university.

This group from FIA UI, which is lead by Prof. Eko Prasojo as the dean picked Hertie School of Governance, a private school, which became a target of these foreigners to be the fourth university from FIA UI’s list of visitation to establish a collaboration, Wednesday (26/09). FIA UI looked at several collaboration potential that could be done with Hertie School of Governance.

The first is the potential to do a faculty member exchange. The Review of International Cooperation Affairs of FIA UI, Dr. Phil. Reza Fathurrahman, MPP said that this step could facilitate other collaborations. “this is the first step that could be done to facilitate other forms of collaboration as well as to consider inviting Prof. Gerhard Hammerschmid or other Junior Professors as a keynote speaker in Call for Paper ICASPGS 2018,” said Reza who is also the head of the 2018 ICASPGS.

Aside from that, FIA UI also has a chance to collaborate research in the field of social issues. This is welcomed by the junior professors in Hertie School of Governance, Prof. Alina which was interested to do research in the field of anti- corruption.

The third potential is for FIA being a hub for the masters degree students of Hertie School of Governance to have an internship. FIA is expected to play a role in the form of monitoring the implementation of S2 student internship in Indonesia. Finally, it is expected that there is an executive training program in the Hertie School because this campus has had experience in facilitating the training of State Civil Apparatus in the field of population record. This is a combination between lectures and visits to several related government agencies.

For your information. The Hertie School of Governance is a postgraduate private school in governance located in Fredrichstraße, Berlin. They are allowed to give doctoral degrees. Half of the students in the Hertie School came from outside the country, which became a proof that Hertie School is in great demand not only by local students, but also international students. (AY)
