Depok, May 29, 2024 – A delegation from Dili Institute of Technology (DIT) visited the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) to initiate a strategic partnership in various academic fields on Monday, May 27, 2024, at the Smartclass, M Building, FIA UI, Depok.

The DIT delegation, led by DIT Rector, Dr. Ir. Salustiano Piedade, MSi., stated that the primary objective of the visit was to strengthen collaboration with FIA UI in the areas of PhD program development, student and faculty exchanges, joint research, scientific publications, and human resource development.

“In relation to the plan for strengthening and developing the PhD in Business Administration Program at DIT, the DIT Rector and the leadership of the DIT Graduate Program plan to visit FIA UI and establish cooperation between the DIT Graduate School – PhD Program in Business Administration and the FIA UI Graduate School,” said Dr. Ir. Salustiano.

The DIT Rector further mentioned that in July, DIT will participate in the ICASPGS International Conference organized by FIA UI. He also expressed his hopes that this partnership would bring significant benefits to both institutions and lead to the development of flagship programs for FIA UI and DIT.

“We welcome this collaboration plan because we recognize that cooperation is a crucial step in enhancing the quality of educational services we provide at FIA UI,” said Dr. Fibria Indriati Dwi Liestiawati, M.Si., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs at FIA UI.

In addition, Dr. Fibria also offered a summer course program that DIT students could participate in, with the opportunity to transfer credits to their programs at DIT through the credit-earning system.

“We hope this collaboration will be an important step in strengthening ties between the two higher education institutions and fostering closer friendship between Indonesia and Timor-Leste within the ASEAN community,” added Dr. Ir. Salustiano Piedade, MSi.

For reference, Dili Institute of Technology (DIT) is a leading private university in Timor-Leste, founded in 2002 and accredited with an A rating. With over 6,000 students and 200 faculty members, DIT offers a wide range of study programs, including management, tourism, engineering, and other fields. One of DIT’s latest initiatives is the PhD in Business Administration Program, which aims to train skilled and professional leaders in the business administration field.

The PhD in Business Administration Program was officially launched in August 2023, with support from leading experts from various countries, including Indonesia, Australia, and Portugal. Currently, the program has attracted 14 students from diverse professional backgrounds interested in conducting research in various areas of management.

Representing FIA UI at the meeting were Dr. Milla Sepliana Setyowati, M.Ak., Dr. Ixora Lundia Suwaryono, S.Sos., M.S., Prof. Dr. Teguh Kurniawan, M.Sc., Dr. phil. Reza Fathurrahman, MPP.,  Dr. Inayati, M.Si., M. Imam Alfie Syarien, S.Sos., M.A., Dra. Eva Andayani, M.Si., and Devina Dwi Soraya.

Meanwhile, the DIT delegation included Dr. Estanislau Saldanha, President of the Permanent Council Board of Trustees at DIT; Manuel Vong, PhD, Former Rector of DIT and Former Minister of Tourism of Timor-Leste; Dr. Carla dan Costa, Vice Rector for Administration and Resources; Mr. Marcus Taec Abi, Vice Rector for Planning and Cooperation; and Dr. Edio da Costa, Director of the DIT Graduate School.
