Depok, October 14, 2024 – The development of certification in the assurance sector is becoming increasingly important amidst the growing complexity of the industry and the demand to meet high professional standards. With the legal framework established by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the significant growth of this sector since 2020, it is crucial for professionals in the assurance field to obtain official recognition and validated competencies.

Recognizing this urgency, the Certification Institute for Assurance (LSP Penjaminan) has partnered with the Institute for Administrative Science Research and Application (LPPIA) at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI). This collaboration aims to deliver high-quality training programs, enhance human resource (HR) skills, and ultimately promote further growth in Indonesia’s assurance industry.

The partnership was formally established through the signing of a cooperation agreement between LPPIA FIA UI and LSP Penjaminan on October 10, 2024, at the Smartclass Room, 3rd Floor, M Building, FIA UI Depok. This agreement aligns with LPPIA’s commitment to fulfilling the tridharma of higher education (education, research, and community service) by fostering productive collaboration across sectors.

The agreement involves the Risk Governance Center (RGC), a subunit of LPPIA responsible for organizing training and certification exams in the assurance field. “We see tremendous potential in the assurance sector, which has evolved into a recognized industry since 2020,” said Mr. Yuliarso, Chairperson of LSP Penjaminan. He explained that although the assurance field has existed since the 1970s, formal legal recognition from the Financial Services Authority was only granted in 2020, leading to the establishment of LSP Penjaminan in 2022.

Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.Si., M.M., Dean of FIA UI, emphasized, “This collaboration will be even stronger if RGC has competent trainers. With capable trainers, participants can proceed to certification exams conducted by LSP Penjaminan.”

Both parties expressed optimism that this collaboration will bring tangible and mutual benefits, elevate the assurance sector to a higher level, and contribute to the professional development of industry practitioners.
