On Wednesday (11/05/22) morning, a Halalbihalal from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, University of Indonesia (FIA UI) was held with the theme “Eid Al-Fitr as a Momentum to Strengthen the Relationship and Togetherness” online.

The Dean of FIA UI Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.Sc., MM. in his speech said that apologizing is expected not only at the Halalbihalal moment.

“Sincere from the deepest heart, forgive the mistakes of others, and apologize for all the mistakes we have made. So let’s not erase brotherhood because of mistakes, but erase mistakes in order to continue brotherhood,” he said.

The event, which was attended by more than a hundred FIA UI academicians, was also filled with tausiyah by Ust. Ahmad Sarwat as Director of the Indonesian Fiqh House.

In his tausiyah, Ust. Ahmad Sarwat said that the Eid culture in Indonesia is a unique and special thing, because there are various traditions that do not exist in other countries such as going home, halalbihalal, and so on.

“This homecoming tradition is also one of the good traditions, although the prophet did not specifically order it, to establish friendship with all friends and relatives in the village. So this Lebaran moment is a moment to re-establish ties of friendship,” he said.

He concluded that the tradition of establishing friendships during Eid such as going home, pilgrimage, and visiting and forgiving, even though it was not specifically ordered in the Shari’a, but the tradition did not conflict with the Shari’a and became a good important moment.

“Precisely at this moment we can use it to really apologize, stay in touch. So that this culture is a good culture and is a reflection of the hospitality of the Indonesian people,” he said.
