Depok, July 23, 2024 – The 4th International Conference on Administrative Science, Policy, and Governance Studies (ICAS-PGS) 2024 and the 5th International Conference on Business Administration and Policy (ICBAP) 2024 will be held on July 24-25, 2024, at the Universitas Indonesia campus in Depok. This international conference, organized by the Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA UI), carries the theme “Organizational Policy and Innovation: Governing Resilience in Multiple Disruptions and the Digital Age.”
Dean of FIA UI, Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, stated that the theme reflects the critical need for organizations to innovate and develop resilient policies capable of navigating the complex environments they face while achieving strategic goals.
He emphasized that, in an era of rapid transformation marked by diverse dynamics, the ability to adapt and evolve is essential. The digital age, with its transformative potential, presents both opportunities and challenges for organizations worldwide, requiring a reassessment of traditional approaches and the development of innovative strategies to ensure long-term sustainability.
“This conference is thought-provoking, presenting innovative research and exploring practical applications and creative ideas. It not only enhances our understanding of innovation in the public sector, business, and fiscal policy but also inspires all participants to implement innovative practices in their work and collaborations. Together, we can make a significant impact and contribute to a brighter and more innovative future,” said Prof. Chandra.
The conference is motivated by the global advancements in innovation, entrepreneurial agility, and technological sophistication, which demand policy and governance frameworks capable of addressing increasingly complex issues.
Throughout the conference, discussions will focus on the latest developments in administrative sciences across a variety of issues, including public administration, business, and fiscal policy, as well as their relationship to Industry 4.0.
Researchers, academics, scientists, policymakers, students, and other stakeholders are invited to participate and present their latest research findings, developments, and practical solutions related to administrative challenges in both the public and private sectors. Beyond serving as a forum for academic analysis, the conference aims to deliver practical solutions to key policy and governance challenges faced by public and private institutions.
Several prominent experts will deliver keynote speeches during the conference. On July 24, 2024, Prof. Ayano H. Nishihara from Rikkyo University, Japan will present a lecture titled “Innovation in Organization and Knowledge Management in Japan.” This will be followed by a Plenary Session featuring Andrew A. Wiranata, representing PT Blue Bird Tbk, who will discuss “Innovation in PT Bluebird.”
On July 25, 2024, Dr. Gitte Heij, Senior Associate at the Sir Walter Murdoch School of Public Policy and International Affairs, University of Melbourne, will deliver a speech on “Embracing Change: Future-Proofing Fiscal Systems.”
Over the course of the two-day conference, more than 100 research papers will be presented across three thematic streams: “Dynamic Public Governance in the Multiple ESG Disruption and Sustainability,” “Managing Sustainable Business Competitiveness in the Digital Age,” and “Innovation in Fiscal Systems to Adapt Resilience in Multiple Disruptions and the Digital Age.”
A pre-conference session was also held on July 23, 2024, featuring an Academic Talk by Prof. Dr. Achim Kemmerling, Gerhard Haniel Professor for Public Policy and International Development at the University of Erfurt. He discussed “The Future of Work in Indonesia: Scenarios and Their Consequences for Public Policies.”
The conference is expected to serve as a global platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, fostering innovative policy solutions to navigate the challenges of digital disruption and multiple crises in today’s rapidly evolving world.
