Depok, October 12, 2024 – In response to the rapidly changing world where businesses must continuously adapt and innovate to stay relevant, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) held the Indonesian Youthpreneur Competition (Intrec) 2024. This national business idea competition aims to prepare young people to face the dynamic challenges of the business world.

Under the theme “Future-Ready: Unlocking Innovative Business Ideas for the Future,” the event was designed to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among Indonesian youth, particularly students and university undergraduates, encouraging them to become future entrepreneurs. A total of 207 teams from across the country participated in the competition.

Organized by the Laboratory of Studentpreneur and Co-Creation (LSCC FIA UI), Intrec 2024 serves as a platform for students with an interest in entrepreneurship to showcase their innovative business ideas.

“Through Intrec 2024, we hope to encourage young people to think creatively and develop innovative and practical business ideas for the future. This competition provides a platform for the younger generation to present business ideas that can be implemented and contribute to creating new job opportunities,” said Dra. Novita Ikasari, M.Comm., Ph.D., Head of the Department of Business Administration, FIA UI.

The competition included digital and non-digital business ideas. Beyond the core business idea competition, Intrec 2024 offered mentorship and capacity-building sessions for participants. These included a National Entrepreneurship Webinar on August 30, 2024, a “Secrets to Successful Business Pitching” workshop on October 5, 2023, and a Prototype Demo Day, Poster Exhibition, and Final Pitch on October 12, 2024.

Throughout the competition, FIA UI collaborated with industry experts to provide participants with guidance and insights. Among the mentors were Mutiara Kamila Athiyya (Founder & CEO of THENBLANK), Andreas Sanjaya and Yasir Mukhtar (from PT. Badr Interactive Group and Founder+), Rinaldi Dharma Utama (Founder of Lakuliner), and Laras Widyaputri (Founder of Lakasoka). The event also received support from PT. Jasa Marga, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, and Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia.

The competition, which began in June 2024, culminated in a hybrid grand finale held on October 12, 2024, at the FIA UI Campus and via Zoom. The event featured a business poster exhibition, final pitch presentations, and an awards ceremony, all held in a lively and celebratory atmosphere.

Out of 207 participating teams, 40 finalists—20 student teams and 20 university teams—advanced to the final stage to present their business ideas before a panel of judges.
