The Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), has once again made a mark through the dedication of its academic staff. Elnandi Nur, S.Kom, M.M.S.I., a staff member at FIA UI, secured 2nd place in the Information Technology category for Outstanding Academic Staff at the university level. This award recognizes his significant contributions to developing and implementing the integrated Academic Integrated System (AIS) FIA, which has greatly improved the efficiency and effectiveness of academic services at FIA UI.

This achievement aligns with the 2014-2019 Universitas Indonesia Strategic Plan, which emphasizes the importance of governance transformation through the use of integrated information systems. It also supports Indonesia’s Grand Design of Bureaucratic Reform 2010-2025, as outlined in Presidential Regulation No. 81 of 2010. This transformation aims to improve service quality, reduce costs and time, and foster a more responsive, proactive, and effective bureaucracy in Indonesia.

FIA UI Dean, Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.Si., M.M., expressed his pride in this achievement, highlighting it as part of FIA UI’s ongoing commitment to innovation in academic services and technology. “Thank you for your hard work and dedication to FIA UI. I hope other staff members will also continue to achieve excellence and contribute to delivering top-quality services,” said Prof. Chandra.

“The rapid advancement of technology driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, along with the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, has accelerated the need for information systems that support academic performance and services in higher education. Recognizing this, FIA UI has taken strategic steps by implementing the AIS FIA system since 2020,” Elnandi explained.

The AIS FIA system allows faculty members and staff to access a wide range of academic services online 24/7 via smartphones or personal computers. With secure access through the UI Single Sign-On (SSO) system, AIS FIA simplifies administrative processes such as issuing student certificates, research permits, internship letters, and other academic-related needs.

“This system underwent a trial phase from February to May 2022 and was refined based on feedback received. The successful implementation of AIS FIA has been supported by the full commitment of FIA UI leadership, ensuring the system’s sustainability and future development,” Elnandi added.

Through the AIS FIA system, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences has successfully achieved several key objectives, including:

  1. Improving the quality of academic services for students.
  2. Increasing cost and time efficiency in delivering academic services.
  3. Simplifying administrative processes for academic units and student documentation.
  4. Enhancing coordination between academic units.
  5. Reducing paper usage, supporting waste reduction, and promoting campus digitalization.

The award received by Elnandi is a testament to how innovation in information technology within higher education can bring about significant positive changes. Moving forward, FIA UI remains committed to continuous innovation and collaboration to ensure that Universitas Indonesia continues to be a leading center of knowledge, technology, and culture, contributing both nationally and globally.
