The Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA) at Universitas Indonesia (UI) held an internalization event for the Integrity Zone (IZ) Development towards a Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) today at 10:00 AM in the Auditorium, 4th Floor, M Building, FIA UI, Depok. This event was attended by all administrative staff of FIA UI.

The event aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding to all FIA UI staff regarding the development of the Integrity Zone towards a Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Zone (WBBM), while reinforcing FIA’s core values: Commitment, Integrity, Transformation, and Trustworthiness (KITA).

“Since 2021, FIA UI has been implementing the Integrity Zone and achieved third place at the UI level, moving up to first place in 2022. This achievement reflects FIA UI’s commitment to fostering integrity and anti-corruption values within the academic environment,” said Dr. Umanto, M.Si, Secretary of the Faculty, during his presentation.

Dr. Umanto explained that the Integrity Zone at FIA UI represents a comprehensive effort to establish an effective anti-corruption environment. The main goal of this initiative is to embody the values encapsulated in the AKHLAK acronym: Amanah (Trustworthiness), Kompeten (Competence), Harmonis (Harmony), Loyal (Loyalty), Adaptif (Adaptability), and Kolaboratif (Collaboration). The implementation of the Integrity Zone is expected to improve service quality for stakeholders and uphold responsibilities both in this world and the hereafter.

“In 2024, FIA UI successfully submitted 124 proposals and ranked among the top 30 in the Integrity Zone assessment conducted by the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB). Although implementing the Integrity Zone is not yet mandatory, FIA UI remains committed to maintaining integrity and service quality, as recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in 2023 and Kemenpan RB in 2024,” he added.

According to Dr. Umanto, the internalization of the Integrity Zone involves six key areas, including change management, strengthening supervision, business process restructuring, strengthening accountability, human resource management reform, and improving service quality. Additionally, a follow-up activity involving change agents from Kemendikbudristek was conducted last week. Four change agents, comprising lecturers and administrative staff, were selected to motivate and inspire the entire FIA UI academic community.

“All staff must understand their respective main duties and functions, ensuring excellent service from the entrance to the exit. Efforts to improve facilities and the readiness of personnel in various areas such as the Integrated Service Unit (ULT), polyclinic, library, dining areas, classrooms, and laboratories are part of FIA UI’s commitment to providing the best service,” said Dr. Umanto.

Through this internalization initiative, FIA UI is committed to continually improving the quality of public services while preventing corruption and collusion practices. The faculty hopes that this event will strengthen the integrity of its academic community and inspire everyone to consistently deliver excellent service.
