JAKARTA. The Faculty of Administrative Science Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) covers The Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM) and Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis, University of Canberra (IGPA UC) on the international conference degree: 2nd International Conference on Administrative Science, Policy, and Governance Studies 2018 (2nd ICAS- PGS 2018) for the exploration of the strategy and readiness of the government, business people and the community in the face of the digital era. This conference became a networking hub and gets disseminated by various recent studies in the field of administrative science attended by 200 experts and academicians from home and abroad.
This second year of the conference was held by FIA UI to raise the theme of “Advancing Policy, Governance and Innovation in Digital Ecosystems: A Multidisciplinary Approach,” According to Prof. Eko Prasojo, this theme reflects the dynamics of the relationship between public sector actors. “This is needed in optimizing innovations as the main driving force in improving people’s quality of life,” said the Dean of FIA UI, who used to be the Vice-Minister of PANRB, at the opening of the 2nd ICAS-PGS 2018 in Hotel Aston Simatupang, Jakarta.
The conference, which is happening at the 30th-31st October 2018, will be separated into 3 sub-topics which represents the department underneath FIA UI, which are: Public Administration, Business Administration and Fiscal Administration.
This activity is also attended by various domestic and international speakers which are: Prof. Dr. Heike Grimm (University of Erfurt, Germany), Professor Mark Evans (University of Canberra, Australia), Dr. Alex Brillantes (University of the Philippines, Philippines), Robert Pakpahan, Ph.D (Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance), Dr. William Yeoh (Deakin University, Australia), Prof. Dr. Gerry Stoker (University of Canberra, Australia), alongside Prof. Wahyudi Kumorotomo, Ph.D (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia).
In the Activity of this ICAS-PGS, FIA UI made a soft-launching of their Double Master Degree in Public Administration program in collaboration with the University of Canberra. This program is designed for students who wants to study in Indonesia (1 year) and Australia (1 year) so that the student will get two degrees by the end of the study program.
On the second day, FIA UI also released Collaborative Center for Excellence in Transformative Leadership in collaboration with the University of Canberra and Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM). In the future, this institution will become a center for research and studies in the field of leadership.
