The Legal and Human Rights Research and Development Agency (Balitbang Hukum and HAM) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) collaborates with the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, University of Indonesia (FIA UI) in the Executive Development Program (EDP) for Policy Advocacy. This program trains the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to influence stakeholders in making policies or decisions.

“On behalf of the FIA, I would like to thank the High Leaders and Primary Leaders at the Balitbang Law and Human Rights who have trusted us through LPPIA to hold an Executive Development Program to increase ASN competence in the Balitbang Law and Human Rights,” said Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.Sc., M.M as Dean of FIA UI.

Prof. Chandra disclosed this at the Opening of the Executive Development Program on Tuesday, 27 September 2022. Furthermore, Prof. Chandra said that in this program, each participant would get several benefits, namely being able to understand the concept of policy advocacy and analysis of the policy environment, being able to compile instruments and materials for the implementation of policy advocacy through outreach, approaches, technical guidance, assistance and monitoring of policy advocacy evaluations; and able to implement effective communication with measurable targets and time.

In addition, the EDP program participants are also expected to be able to convince and gain support from stakeholders, provide guidance and facilities to stakeholders; as well as being able to evaluate existing advocacy techniques, methods and strategies, analyze weaknesses and deficiencies and develop various techniques, methods and advocacy strategies that are more effective and efficient from different conditions of stakeholders.

“Thank you for your assistance in forming quality advocates at the Balitbang Law and Human Rights. I advise you this program is significant so that you can become an advocate. Your role as an advocate is crucial in supporting BSK. I hope that in the future, you can become the backbone of supporting BSK’s performance when you become an advocate,” said Secretary of the Legal and Human Rights Research and Development Agency Yayah Mariani, S.H., M.H.
