Dr. Vishnu Juwono, a Public Policy Lecturer at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), delivered a public lecture at the Yogyakarta Air Force Academy (AAU), held at the Sabang Merauke Building. In this session, Dr. Vishnu discussed the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the public sector and defense.

In his presentation, Dr. Vishnu highlighted that AI technology is increasingly being adopted in the public sector, including for service automation, policy analysis, and large-scale data management. He emphasized that AI enables faster, more accurate, and efficient decision-making processes.

“For the Indonesian Air Force, AI has a significant positive impact, from operational and budget efficiency to strengthening air defense systems and optimizing human resources. AI also enhances real-time detection and surveillance capabilities in airspace monitoring,” Dr. Vishnu explained.

The event was also attended by the Governor of AAU, Air Vice Marshal Dr. Ir. Purwoko Aji Prabowo, M.M., MDS. In his opening remarks, he stressed the importance of understanding technologies such as AI. According to him, AI plays a critical role not only in the defense sector but also in various other strategic areas, including public governance.

“AI presents both opportunities and challenges in public policymaking, and it is essential that future officers understand it thoroughly,” the Governor emphasized.

The public lecture was attended by Cadet Sergeant Majors as part of a strategic briefing designed to broaden their insights in facing the challenges of the digital era.
