Jakarta, 7 November 2025 – A lecturer and Secretary of the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), Dr. Reza Fathurrahman, served as one of the speakers at the Indonesia–Germany Higher Education Networking Dinner organized by the DAAD Regional Office at Ayana Midplaza Jakarta. The event was attended by representatives from various universities in Indonesia and Germany, as well as representatives of the German Embassy to Indonesia.

In a session titled “Best Practice in University Collaboration,” Dr. Reza Fathurrahman represented Universitas Indonesia alongside three other speakers: the Director of the International Office of Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences (Germany), the Vice Rector of Institut Pertanian Bogor, and the Rector of Swiss German University.

Through his presentation entitled “Fostering a Long-Term and Sustained Academic Collaboration: A FIA UI Model,” Dr. Reza emphasized the importance of building sustainable academic collaboration between Indonesian and German universities. He presented the collaboration model developed by FIA UI, which includes various forms of cooperation such as joint article publications, the organization of workshops and joint course sessions, student and faculty exchanges, and the development of collaborative research projects.

Furthermore, Dr. Reza explained that FIA UI has currently established active partnerships with five universities in Germany, namely the University of Erfurt, the University of Potsdam, TU Darmstadt, HWR Berlin, and Leibniz University Hannover. From these collaborations, a number of concrete outcomes have been achieved, including joint publications, the organization of joint postgraduate courses, student mobility programs, and submissions for international research grants.

The Indonesia–Germany Higher Education Networking Dinner aims to strengthen relations between higher education institutions in Indonesia and Germany through strategic dialogue and networking. The event was also attended by H.E. Ambassador Designate Ralf Beste from the German Embassy in Jakarta and Dr. Guido Schnieders, Director of the DAAD Regional Office Jakarta, who delivered the opening remarks.

Through its participation in this event, FIA UI demonstrated its commitment to continuing to be a pioneer in building global academic networks oriented toward sustainable collaboration and tangible impact for the development of administrative science and public policy in Indonesia.
