Another proud achievement has been recorded by an alumnus of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI). Medina Warda Aulia, an alumna of the Undergraduate Program in Public Administration Class of 2015 and a student of the FIA UI Master’s Program Class of 2020, successfully won two medals at an international chess championship held in Thailand.

In the competition, Medina won a Gold Medal in the ASEAN Chess Rapid Women Quadruple category and a Bronze Medal in the Mixed Chess Classic Quintuple category. This achievement affirms Medina’s capacity and consistency in excelling at the Southeast Asian regional level.

This success serves as evidence that members of the FIA UI academic community are not only outstanding in academics, but are also able to demonstrate competitiveness and strong dedication in non-academic fields at the international level.

The Dean of FIA UI, Prof. Dr. Dra. Retno Kusumastuti Hardjono, M.Si., expressed her appreciation for Medina Warda Aulia’s achievement.

“It is a source of pride for the alma mater to have an alumna like Medina who is able to shine and achieve success on the international stage,” Prof. Retno explained.

With this achievement, FIA UI hopes that it can serve as an inspiration for other students and alumni to continue contributing and excelling in various fields, while also bringing honor to the alma mater and Universitas Indonesia at both the national and international levels.
